Dahlia Tuber Sales - additional information

Dahlia tubers will be available for sale online in late July as a pre-sale and then again in late August, until sold out. Email subscribers will be notified of the sale and we will also advertise on social media.

Available varieties will be released on the day of the first sale and will be removed when sold out in order to help with navigation. There are very small quantities of many varieties so we are sorry if an item is sold out before you are able to navigate to it.

Dahlia tubers are not shipped until eyes are definitely showing, guaranteeing you a viable tuber. Tubers begin shipping in OCTOBER, prioritising addresses in NSW and Queensland.

If any varieties that you order that do not make it through our storage, you will be contacted immediately and be given a refund. As you are ordering a specific tuber, we do not offer substitutes.

Whilst we do our utmost best to ensure our Dahlias are virus free, we do not test for virus and therefore cannot guarantee virus free plants.

We will not refund or replace any plants that you suspect of having a virus after they are planted outside of our property, as Dahlia virus can be picked up from many different sources.

Please email us within 48 hours of receipt (with photographs) if there is any issue on arrival of your order. Email to rebecca@starlingflowers.com.au  We do not accept replacement requests by social media / text / instant messenger.

If you request 'immediate shipping' in our pre-sale, you accept that you are receiving a dormant tuber. We have identified definite eyes on dividing but these may not be visible on the tuber in its dormant stage. You are responsible for the correct storage and planting of the tubers from the point of receipt.

A QR code to a Dahlia Growing Guide is provided with your order to assist you in storing and growing your Dahlias successfully, however as is standard practice across grower, NO responsibility is taken by Starling Flowers for the tubers or their growth after you have received them. You need to monitor your tubers while they are being stored to ensure they stay in a viable condition. Every climate and soil type is different so it is very important you learn what works in your individual environment.

Please note that tubers should not be planted until all risk of frost has passed, which at our farm is usually from October. It is a general national recommendation that Dahlias are planted the first weekend of November, but you can alter this to suit your own climate.
