Our giant freesia are the best variety for cut flowers with their larger flower heads and longer stems. The fragrance is divine.
Plant in full sun if possible although dappled shade is ok. For the best effect, plant 10cm apart and 20cm deep. In pots, add a gravel base to help with drainage and then fill with good quality potting mix.
Freesias can sometimes take a year to establish but will then happily naturalise in the ground and last for very many years. They are happiest when left alone so make sure to leave them in the ground once planted. No need to dig up each year.
