Grow your own flowers - 2 day workshop

New Workshop- our first 2-Day Grow Your Own Cut Flowers workshop.

In this class we share all our knowledge. This is the foundation of all we do, enabling us to produce bunches and bunches of flowers every week of the year without greenhouses or fancy equipment on our flower farm.

Day 1 covers all you need to know to grow buckets of flowers every season.  Learn about the best picks for cutting, the most generous producers and my favourite unusual varieties. We’ll talk about how to plan and schedule your garden tasks and where to source your seeds, plants, bulbs and cuttings. Learn how to ‘grow the bouquet’ - ensuring you have focal, filler and foliage for those bunches. Colour theory and flower fashion are some of our favourite topics - important in planning what will be on trend and what you’ll want in your vases next season.

Day 2 is on the flower farm. Learn how we dig, divide and store our dahlia tubers. Make your own chrysanthemum cuttings and learn how to propagate perennials using a variety of techniques. We’ll show you how to dry your own cut flowers - you can dry much more than you expected. Importantly we’ll also reveal our tips for successful growing from seed.
