Italian Ranunculus - Orange
Italian Ranunculus - Orange

As featured in Country Style, our Italian Ranunculus are taller, stronger and bigger flowered than the traditional garden variety. They are my Queen of Spring, repeat flowering for many months. I think they knock the socks off single-stem flowers like tulips. Just keep cutting for buckets of flowers.
Sunset work really well with other Spring colours. Pair with Dutch Iris, Tulips and Ornitholgalum for a gorgeous bunch.
Plant your ranunculus in Autumn in a well drained spot (or in pots if this is not possible in your garden). We don't bother soaking the corms before planting. The strange Ranunculus corms look a bit like mini octopus. Plant them tentacles facing down!
After the leaves die back, leave in the ground for flowers in following years or dig and dry store. Prise apart clumps for more plants!
